Winter is here, and we are still in the middle of a pandemic. You may be thinking that you will be stuck at home for the next few months. Even though colder weather is here doesn’t mean you have to stop exploring.
NYC is the place to be this winter. There is nothing like NYC’s holiday feel and beautiful city lights. There are still plenty of things to do in NYC this winter that are safe to do during this pandemic. So let us embrace this chaos and make the best out of Nyc this winter.
Last weekend my best friends and I decided to spend a weekend in NYC and it was the best decision yet. The car ride into the city was abnormally quick and the city was unusually empty. Not only was the city so empty but hotel prices were extremely low. We took advantage of how empty the city streets were and explored everywhere.
We decided to stay at Arlo Hotel in Nomad because of its great location and beautiful hotel room views. Arlo hotels were so convenient, being only a couple of blocks away from Midtown. Our room was on the top floor, and the view of the city was absolutely crazy! It was the perfect-sized hotel room for a couple of nights in the city and made for great Instagram photos!
The one downside of going to NYC during the pandemic was finding restaurants. The weekend we went into the city all indoor dining was closed but, if you don’t mind bundling up a couple extra layers there are plenty of restaurants with heated outdoor dining. If you rather eat inside I highly recommend ordering food from your favorite restaurants. My friends and I decided to order yummy desserts from a nearby ice cream shop. We were so surprised at how well packaged the dessert was when it arrived. There is nothing better than laying in bed with a city view while enjoying some good ice cream.
The Edge NYC
I have been wanting to visit the Edge NYC for sooo long now. The Edge is the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, with a unique design. It’s suspended in mid-air, giving you the feeling of floating in the sky with 360-degree views you can’t get anywhere else.
When we got there, the line went so quick, and everyone was wearing a mask and social distancing. The View was absolutely insane, and the pictures came out so great!
After taking some insane pictures at the Edge we got some warm hot chocolate at a local coffee shop and then decided to walk around Washington Square and have a little winter photoshoot.
Overall, my friends and I really enjoyed are trip to NYC. I highly recommend making the best out of this crazy time and doing something new and exciting! Its okay to be a little spontaneous. I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday!
